Ambassador Clyde Rivers and the Mercer Basketball Staff and Team |
Ambassador
Clyde Rivers spent the weekend with the Mercer University Basketball Team during their retreat, late October and early
November, in Panama City, Florida. The team first caught Ambassador Rivers’ eye
when he learned of their program’s emphasis on building integrity, purposeful
character and hard work. He was made aware of the fact this team takes these
qualities beyond the court into their personal lives. This reveals all the
ingredients of living the Golden Rule… “Treat others the way you want to be
treated” which is the foundation for the Golden Rule International Award.
Ambassador
Rivers reflected, “The team spirit and sportsmanship of this team was
representative of young lives determined to make a difference. The model this
team represents is outstanding and a true model to be replicated in all sports.
I was proud to make Mercer University Basketball our first sports team honored with the Golden Rule International Award.
I believe these players and coaching staff will build an even greater platform
of excellence with the honor of being World Peace Ambassador. Congratulations and
welcome to the movement of Bringing Back the Lost Art of Honor and representing
the Golden Rule International around the world.”
Ambassador
Rivers is the Representative for the Golden Rule International and the
Interfaith Peace-Building Initiative, North American Division to the United
Nations – New York. Interfaith Peace-Building Initiative is affiliated with the
Department of Public Record (DPI) – United Nations as well as affiliated with
the United Religious Initiative (URI), an Interfaith Peace organization. The
Golden Rule International Award is now established in 120 nations of the world.
This organization seeks out top achievers that live the Golden Rule in their
everyday life. This is a new global ethic that the leadership of the Golden
Rule International Award, Patron, former President of Ethiopia, Girma Wolde and
Ambassador Mussie Hailu have embraced and are promoting globally.
